Soapy Joe’s thanks everyone who showed their support at the San Diego 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb (SD911MSC) on September 8th, 2018.
It was a truly uplifting morning as San Diego firefighters, police officers, public figures, military personnel and civilians climbed 110 flights of stairs in the Hilton San Diego Bayfront—representing the 110 flights of stairs in the Twin Towers—to memorialize the 403 emergency responders who made the ultimate sacrifice during the tragic unfolding of 9/11. Each climber wore the name of a fallen emergency responder who perished on that fateful day.
Nearly $150,000 Raised
Aside from bringing the community together and brightening a somber day in history, SD911MSC raises vital funds for FirefighterAid, PsychArmor, Firefighter Cancer Support Network, and the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation. The 2018 stair climb sold out with 1,300 participants raising nearly $150,000.
Featuring Soapy Joe Himself
As a division sponsor, Soapy Joe’s had a booth outside the Hilton, where we gave out our signature air fresheners and welcomed participants to take photos with our mascot. See the day’s events below.
