What a weekend, what a march!

This is Soapy Joe; many of you might have seen me recently at the 45th annual San Diego Pride Parade on Saturday, July 13th. We were marching down the streets of Hillcrest—dancing, chanting, and celebrating diversity. Here I am in the back of our company’s decked-out Pride truck:

The SD Pride parade is the sixth largest Pride event in the nation, attracting more than 250,000 people each year. That says a lot about our community, doesn’t it? We really do love everyone equally.

Another point of pride for me, personally, is the turnout our team had at the event. This was our second year participating as a Pride level sponsor, and we saw over 30 marchers join our contingent. Look at us all giving away thousands of items, from tote bags and bracelets to t-shirts, accessories and limited-edition Soapy Joe’s Car Wash x SD Pride air fresheners.

Some lucky recipients even came away with vouchers for a free Magic Potion car wash (the one with the Magic Glaze).

All that said, this isn’t about us. It’s about rising above prejudice. Let’s embrace and encourage LGBTQ pride—not just in June during Pride Month or in July at the Pride Parade, but each and every day.
