San Diego, Calif. (Oct. 12, 2017) – Soapy Joe’s Car Wash made some waves at the Surfrider Foundation’s 26th Annual Paddle for Clean Water. The event was held at the Ocean Beach Pier in San Diego, Calif. Participants paddled out to the end of the pier on various types of boards, including surfboards, boogie boards, and stand up paddle boards (SUPs). The nearly 2,000-foot long pier was quite the trek, but the paddlers went the distance, including a Soapy Joe’s team. A yoga session was hosted before the start of the paddle, and free breakfast was provided to participants, courtesy of Einstein bagels. Music played throughout the event, with raffle prizes given out after the paddle.

Surfrider hosted the event as a way to raise awareness for clean water issues in San Diego County, and to benefit their Blue Water Task Force. The task force’s goals are to prevent pollution from reaching the ocean and to protect our water resources. Their focus for the time being is to help the Tijuana River Valley region with the clean water issues it currently faces. Soapy Joe’s contributed as a sponsor of the event, and hosted a booth where guests were able to win prizes such as shirts, hats, cups, and car washes.
Soapy Joe’s Car Wash will continue to support the Surfrider foundation, and participate in other events throughout San Diego County.
